About:
Oben Electric is an electric motorcycle start-up, founded in Aug 2020 by IIT & IIM alumni, and is headquartered in Bengaluru. It is an R&D-driven organization designing, developing, and manufacturing electric motorcycles in-house along with critical EV components. This is enabled by a phenomenal team of passionate technologists who bring 25+ years of collective hands-on experience in electric two-wheelers and their components, with a focus on ‘Design in India for the World’. It is playing a pivotal role in changing the electric two-wheeler landscape of India with many firsts to its name. It is pioneering the use of advanced battery chemistry such as LFP in E2Ws in the country, which is significantly safer, longer, and cleaner than other widely used battery chemistries. The company also holds 18+ patents for its proprietary technology and EV components. Oben Electric as an early mover is leading the adoption of electric motorcycles in India and intends to become the largest electric motorcycle OEM globally.
Role:
Legal Associate
Qualification:
Bachelor’s degree in Law from a recognized institution.
- 1-3 years of experience in a legal role, preferably in a corporate environment or law firm.
- Strong understanding of contract law, corporate law, and intellectual property law.
- Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, agreements, and other legal documents, ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Conduct legal research and analysis on various issues related to corporate law, intellectual property, contracts, and regulatory compliance.
- Support in managing corporate governance matters, including board meetings, corporate filings, and compliance documentation.
- Assist in handling legal disputes, claims, and litigation matters, including coordinating with external counsel and internal stakeholders.
- Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends affecting the electric mobility sector, providing proactive advice and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify legal risks and develop strategies to mitigate them effectively.
- Assist in maintaining and organizing legal documentation and records, ensuring accessibility and accuracy for internal and external stakeholders.
