Senior Legal Counsel, India Cluster
Purpose of the Job:
Provide active legal support to the business and projects on all legal matters within the India Cluster. Ensure that Alstom takes legal commitments with acceptable levels of risks.

- Position reports hierarchically and functionally to Head of Legal, India Cluster

- Internal: All internal Alstom Transport functions including but not limited toCommercial, Sales & Tendering community, Project Management community, Sourcing and Procurement Community & Contract Management community
- External: Customers, Partners, Subcontractors, Suppliers, etc.

- Quality on time delivery (right the first time) of support and deliverables expected.
- Ensure Alstom standard terms and conditions or tailor made acceptable conditions are applied to our contracts.
Accountabilities
- Legal support to sales teams on tender activities, contract drafting and negotiation.
- Legal support to project and contract managers on claim management, dispute settlement and other legal issues arising during the course of performing contracts.
- Legal support on corporate matters
- Legal advice on applicable law and regulatory matters
Responsibilities
- Provide sound level of legal advices and supervision on all tenders in India Cluster;
- Pro-actively provide legal support in claim management actions on projects under execution;
- Ensure on-time delivery of legal reviews, legal gap analysis, legal opinions, claims files, pleadings submissions and/or other key documents produced by the legal function for the operational business;
- Preparing and customising template agreements / letters.
- Litigation, arbitration other dispute matters within the India Cluster
Business Understanding
- Knowledge and experiences in the railway or infrastructure industry
- Knowledge and experiences in dealing with government / non-government-related tenders and contracts
- Knowledge and experiences in corporate legal matters
Candidate Requirements
Educational Requirements
- Minimum LL.B or any equivalent Law Degree from a well-recognised university.
Technical Knowledge / Experience
- Minimum 8 years post-qualification experiences.
- Familiar with public tenders in India
- litigations / dispute resolution/company secretarial/company law matters/contract law
- Familiar with laws and matters related to anti-corruption and competition law
