Privacy Associate
Location:
Pune, Maharashtra, India (On-site)
Qualifications:
- The qualified candidate shall have a good subject matter expertise in data protection and privacy in a multi-national environment.
- Must have a graduate with a minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience including at least 2 years of in-house and/or law firm experience.
- The candidate must possess a problem-solving, “can do” orientation with a demonstrated ability to simplify complex situations.
- Ability to influence without authority and to work within a matrixed legal team is a key attribute.
- Ability to develop and sustain relationships with management at all levels across geographies, and demonstrate customer management skills is required.
- Good understanding of GDPR, North American privacy laws, such as HIPAA, Federal Trade Commission (“FTC”) requirements and guidelines, the California Consumer Protection Act (“CCPA”), the Canadian – Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (“PIPEDA”), and others.
Preferred
- Law degree
- The candidate CIPP/US or CIPP/EP certified.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Global Privacy Office and implementation of the global privacy program
- Maintain privacy program documentation, including policies, notices, playbooks, privacy impact assessments and records of processing activities
- Assist with data mapping by coordinating activities with all enterprise stakeholders
- Support privacy incidents and breaches management activities
- Support training and privacy awareness activities
- Assisting IT and Marketing teams with programmatic build out of layered cookie consent notice
- Program manage privacy oversight and framework on data collection practices around advertising and marketing tags and cookies from web sites
- Maintain knowledge of privacy laws, regulatory requirements and emerging issues to support enterprise adaptation, innovation and compliance
- Work cross-functionally with leaders to implement legal and policy requirements to enable the business to position privacy as a competitive advantage driving business growth and customer loyalty.
- Collaborate with product and business teams at all stages of product development to identify any potential privacy risk and provide counseling on risk-mitigation by conducting privacy impact assessments
- Support Johnson Controls´ customer due diligence on Johnson Controls´ privacy practices through addressing customer questionnaires
- Support Global Privacy Office for M&A transactions during acquisition, due diligence and integration phases
- Work with the Global Privacy Office and business for creating and validating data privacy sheets for products and services
