Corporate Legal Counsel
PQE:
6-8 years
Qualifications:
- 6 -8 years post qualification experience working in contracting or intellectual property teams, in law firms, in house teams or LPOs
- Prior experience in SAAS, software product/ services licensing
- Ability to manage a high volume of work and deadlines with flexibility, while adapting to changing priorities.
- Highly attentive to details, with sensitivity to awareness of risk (compliance and regulatory), controls implications and knowledgeable of corporate governance considerations.
- Responsive, with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, including the ability to successfully interact with, and provide clear and practical guidance to business partners.
- Graduate law degree, licensed and in good standing
- Ability to deliver high-quality work under deadlines.
- Demonstrate ability to create legal defensive or proactive strategies
- Sound judgement and ability to analyse situations and information
- Ability to build and maintain good relationships both internally and externally at all levels.
- Thrives working in a fast-paced, high pressure, entrepreneurial environment.
Responsibilities:
They are looking for an excellent Corporate Counsel to add value to and be the “backbone” of their business ensuring that the company always operates within the law, offers counsel on legal issues, creates an effective guardian of the organisation and facilitates business strategies development. The successful candidate will be able to ensure legal compliance and limit risk exposure.
- Assisting the legal and business team with intellectual property and data related matters including software licenses, IP registration, renewals, and disputes.
- Assisting the organisation with non-customer related litigations and disputes (such as IP disputes, regulatory disputes, contractual disputes etc.
- Assisting the organisation with data privacy and security aspects from a legal perspective.
- Manage internal stakeholders and external counsels.
- Assisting in preparation of policies, processes, and standard operating procedures.
- Assistance with strategic arrangements.
