Role:
Legal Manager
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in law from a top 10 law institution in India.
- 4 to 7 years of experience as a legal role or in a similar role, preferably in the medical/ healthcare industry or top tier Law firm in India.
- Strong knowledge of Indian laws and regulations.
- Experience and understanding of international laws will be added advantage for this role
- Experience in drafting and negotiating commercial contracts.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize workload.
- Experience managing external legal counsel.
Responsibilities:
Legal Manager to undertake and lead in all aspects of Legal Compliance including, but not limited to, compliance with Company Law, IP laws, drafting and finalization of legal agreements with various parties including customers, vendors and strategic partners. The responsibilities will also include overseeing the compliance with company secretarial functions. The Legal Manager will be responsible for monitoring compliance across the company and maintaining compliance checklist and dashboard at company level. He/she shall work with external lawyers/ legal council as and when required. This role reports directly to the Chief Financial Officer, but will also need to work closely with the founders and rest of the leadership team.
- Provide legal advice and support to the executive team on all legal matters related to the company’s operations including, but not limited to, commercial contracts, employment law, intellectual property, and regulatory compliance.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents and maintenance of signed agreements & keeping track of their validity
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
- Manage legal disputes and litigation, working with external counsel as necessary
- Conduct legal research and analysis to stay up-to-date with changes in laws and regulations that impact the company.
- Manage external legal counsel and ensure that legal services are delivered in a cost-effective and timely manner.
- Monitor and review regulatory developments that may impact the company’s operations.
- Working with the respective department in fixing the responsibility of compliance and preparation of the compliance checklist.
- Monitoring notices received from statutory authorities and other parties and ensuring appropriate action.
- Monthly report to management on status of compliances and Quarterly reporting to Board of directors (BOD )
