About:
Government of Tamil Nadu by an Act of State Legislature [Act No.43 of 1997] established the Tamil Nadu Dr.Ambedkar Law University for the advancement and dissemination of knowledge in learning, teaching and research in the field of law. His Excellency Shri. K.R. Narayanan, former President of India inaugurated it on September 20, 1997, and the University started from October 3, 1997 onwards.
The University was named after the architect of the Indian Constitution Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. The University is recognized by the Bar Council of India ( BCI ) and University Grants Commission ( UGC ) ( Sec. 2f and 12b of the UGC Act. ). The University is also a member of the Association of Indian Universities ( AIU ), Association of Common Wealth Universities, U.K. and Indian Institute of Public Administration, New Delhi. This University is functioning as nodal agency to uplift the legal education in the State of Tamil Nadu.
The University is the first full-fledged sui generis Law University in the country; it is unique among all the Law Universities in the Country. The University is the first full-fledged Law University that offers Legal Education only through this University and its affiliated colleges in the State and the University is the first of its kind not only in the country but also in South Asia. The University offers legal education at its campus as well as through sixteen affiliated colleges in the state of Tamil Nadu located at Chennai, Madurai, Trichy, Coimbatore, Tirunelveli, Chengalpattu, Vellore and Salem.
The School of Excellence in Law established by the University at its campus since 2002 has been modeled on the lines of other National Law Schools in the country and offers three year as well as five year integrated undergraduate courses in Law. The University has a Postgraduate and Research Centre, which offers Master of Law Degree Courses in eleven different specializations, doctoral programme as well as organizing research in diverse areas of law. Apart from these, there is also a Distance Education Unit as well as a few evening college programmes for various postgraduate diploma courses.

Qualifications:
- The qualifications as per UGC Norms and the candidate must have qualified in NET/SLET or Ph.D. in the relevant subject. The qualifying Degree must have been obtained in the relevant subject through regular mode only. All selection shall be made as per Tamil Nadu Government Servants (Condition of Service) Act, 2016, (i.e.) 10 +2 +3 +2 pattern only.
- Pay as per the UGC/State Government Norms.
- In-service candidates are required to send the applications through proper channel. In case of any difficulty, advance copy may be sent within the time prescribed, subject to production of NO OBJECTION CERTIFICATE at the time of interview.
- Candidates who have already applied in response to earlier notification have to apply afresh and earlier applications submitted if any shall not be considered for this selection.
- Candidates who have applied in response to earlier notification dt.26.12.2021 can collect the application forms alongwith enclosures from the Office of the Registrar, the Tamil Nadu Dr.Ambedkar Law University, Poompozhil (Adyar) Campus, Chennai in person on any working day.
How to Apply:
Candidates willing to apply for the post/posts may download the prescribed application from the University Website www.tndalu.ac.in and submit the duly filled in application in two copies along with one soft copy* with relevant enclosures, along with the processing fee of Rs.1,180/- (Rupees One Thousand One Hundred and Eighty only) in case of SC/ST/PWD Rs.590/- (Rupees Five Hundred and Ninety only) (inclusive of GST) by way of Demand Draft drawn on or after 18.03.2023 in favour of “The Registrar, the Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai – 600 028”. Separate applications are to be submitted in case of candidates applying for more than one post.
*Scanned copies of duly filled in application with enclosures in CD or Pen Drive along with two copies of the application forms and one set of enclosures have to be forwarded to the University. The decision to fill or not to fill the posts rests with the University.
