Qualifications:
- Candidate must have in-depth knowledge of the laws involved in the relevant practice area.
- Bachelors/ Masters in Law with atleast 5 years experience in independent practice/ chamber/ law firm
- Experience of independent handling of assignments
- In-depth knowledge of Procedural laws and court practice
- Proficient research skills and IT skills
- Knowledge of research tools such as Manupatra, SCC Online
- Proficient drafting skills are must
- Skill to research case-laws, facts and material facts till desired results met
- Ability to take onus and end to end responsibility of matters and clients
- Knack of keeping updated with latest case laws, amendments, government policies, etc.
- Eye for minute details
- Out of the box thinking approach to devise strategies in complex legal matters
- Excellent command over language
- Excellent inter-personal skills
- Confidence and ability to independent handle matters
- Zeal to learn and grow
- Ability to meet strict deadlines
Additional Information:
- Immediate joiners shall be preferred.
- Independent practising advocates can also apply if they are willing for a full time role.
Responsibilities:
- The present role is for a practising advocate who has a dedicated experience in law practice/ legal consulting and can independently handle matters from client counselling to research, drafting and allied services.
- It is a leadership role and involves devising legal strategies, ensuring due compliance, client servicing, managing team and assisting in growth of the practice area.
- Role is suitable only for those candidates who have had a rich experience in a practice area and are interested in participating in building and growing a practice area.
- Role doesn’t involve business development, client acquisition or lead generation and only seeks client servicing and delivery of professional services.
- Role shall not be suitable for in-house counsels/ advocates with only corporate experience.
- Role shall require independent decision making and candidate shall have to take complete onus of the practice area.
- Drafting and vetting of pleadings, legal opinions, agreements, etc.
- Devising legal strategies
- Arguments, appearance, if required
- Legal Research
- Client counselling
- Advisory
- Managing and guiding team
- Working with the Management team in Practice Development
- Participating in team building
- Collaborating with cross functional teams as well as other practice areas
- Maintaining MIS of records and finance
