Sr Associate – Managed Services Trademarks
Qualifications:
- Candidates should have strengths in teamwork (internal and external stakeholders), quality control, and problem-solving. They must also have strong interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Candidates should be experienced in working autonomously/remotely from the team/stakeholders but open to seeking advice from senior team members when needed.
- Strong academic background.
- Three or more years of progressive work experience in clearance searches, brand enforcement, and trademarks at a law firm or in-house.
- At least one year of experience using Foundation IP.
- Applicable knowledge and understanding of all components of trademark principles, rules, and regulations.
- Knowledge of foreign trademark rules to support the preparation of foreign filings is highly desirable.
- Familiarity and comfort with latest digital technologies and marketplace, social media, and communication platforms.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with other professionals in the legal department and business teams.
- Detail-oriented with excellent judgment and analytical skills.
- Able to juggle multiple tasks – dynamic, and action-orientated, which meets deadlines and makes it happen.
- Ability to work collaboratively with an onsite and/or virtual global teams.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and related software programs.
- Exhibit a high degree of initiative with excellent analytical, technical, and critical-thinking skills requiring an aptitude for detail, precision, and logic to analyze and research intellectual property data, process information, and perform essential duties.
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Ability to communicate with courtesy and diplomacy, efficiently follow written and verbal instructions, provide information and training, and maintain effective relationships with a diverse group of attorneys, staff, and outside contacts.
- Dependable team player, who works collaboratively and cooperatively with others in a team-oriented environment. Ability to act independently and make decisions within the scope of the position’s responsibilities.
- Ability to organize, prioritize, and execute numerous tasks from inception to completion, and ensure work is completed within strict deadlines.
- Ability to and manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven, detail-oriented work environment, and adapt to changes in workflow. Proactive with excellent troubleshooting, problem resolution, and follow-through skills.
- Possess excellent knowledge of reading, writing, grammar, spelling, punctuation, proofreading, and formatting to interpret source data, prepare intellectual property documents and forms, proofread material for grammatical, typographical, and spelling errors, and perform file maintenance.
- Proficient in technology and tools used by the company and with the client
Responsibilities:
- The Trademarks Specialist is responsible for individual contribution as part of the IP team catering to Accenture.
- Primary day to day focus will be on conducting trademarks-related clearance searches, brand monitoring and anti-counterfeiting activities and supporting the in-house Trademarks Attorney in his/her day-to-day activities.
- Reviewing and acknowledging incoming clearance search requests from relevant stakeholders.
- Utilizing on-line trademark databases and third-party search platforms to conduct trademark clearance searches.
- Analyzing results from clearance searches for potential conflicts.
- Updating the trademark docket with relevant findings from the analysis.
- Corresponding with the relevant stakeholders to report status and relevant findings.
- Providing hands-on analysis and support relating to brand protection and enforcement matters.
- Maintaining files and documents relevant to applicable matters in docket management system (Foundation IP).
- Supporting the in-house Trademarks Attorney in his/her day-to-day activities.
- Performing other related activities as required.
