Procurement Lawyer
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience as an In-house Counsel.
- Demonstrated success in complex contract review, drafting and negotiation for transactions involving technology products/services.
- Successful record of interacting with sophisticated enterprise vendors, customers and their third-party representatives, as transaction counterparties.
- Master or bachelor’s in law.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to summarize issues to clients/management.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to rapidly assess potential risks, benefits and consequences of business decisions.
- Independent initiative to develop, lead and implement special projects that enhance contracting processes.
- Solid work ethic and strong sense of responsibility for high quality work product.
- Ability to achieve results under pressure/deadlines.
- Proficient in MS-Outlook, Word and PowerPoint.
- Excellent communication skills – both verbal & written. Good negotiation skills and Sound ethics.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with stakeholders and other personnel at all levels across the organization
- Willing to tackle wide range of routine to complex projects.
- Positive, can-do attitude, and able to manage numerous projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Responsibilities:
- Review, draft and negotiate a wide variety of vendor (IT and Non-IT) contract terms.
- Review and negotiation of contracts such as Master Services Agreements, Subscription Agreements, Licensing Agreements, Staffing Agreements, Consultancy Agreements, NDA, EULA, POC etc.
- Lead negotiation of medium to high complex vendor and partner transactions including, actively participate with the business as a member of the legal team and be the first point of contact on all legal issues. Lead commercial transactions to closure in prudent and expeditious manner without compromising on Wipro’s interests.
- Work with stakeholders to ensure compliance to company guidelines and procurement procedures.
- Provide risk assessment and commercial legal advice.
- Identify or collaborate with different stakeholders to create solutions to deal roadblocks.
- Provide support and advice on Intellectual Property Information Technology and Data Privacy.
- Adherence to timelines, constant upgradation of checklist and templates based on learnings from each of the transactions.
- Knowledge & Training: Ensure appropriate training on various legal issues and strategies to team members, stakeholders and ensure such trainings are conducted on timely basis.
