Associate Director – MI Privacy & Compliance

Qualification:
- Bachelor or Master’s degree preferred.
- Curiosity, honesty and accountability.
- Previous experience in Operations (privacy, risk, compliance) or (people) data management a plus
- Solid understanding of Capital Markets, Finance and Financial Data a plus+
- Strong leadership skills
- Knowledge and understanding of People data collection a plus+.
- Project management skills a plus with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously to meet critical deadlines.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and relationship building skills.
- Ability to write clearly, concisely and analyze facts within the context of a regulatory and technical environment.
- Strong analytical skills and familiarity with relational database concepts.
- Client first mindset: keen sense of urgency and focus on client delivery.
- Working knowledge of Advance Excel, OneTrust, Collibra, Appian, and Azure DevOps a plus+
- Incident Management skills a plus+.
Experience:
- 5+ years’ experience in data preferably people data.
- 5+ years’ experience in Operations and working with global, multi-disciplinary teams.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and improve the DSAR (Data Subject Access Requests) workflow for MI with a focus on streamlining and automating processes.
- Manage, improve, enhance, and elevate MI’s Web Sourcing workflow interacting with Legal, Tech, Data Operations and other stakeholders.
- Own, launch, review and process privacy impact assessments, coordinate and liaise with MI Legal and the Business.
- Oversee, improve and expand the division’s notice of collection effort, cooperating with Data Operations and –Management, Technology and Legal.
- Create, oversee and manage features and stories in Azure DevOps, participate in PI planning, and work closely with development teams and data teams on privacy projects and to improve existing tools and processes.
- Support the division’s data retention program.
- Review and maintain Records of Processing (ROP) and new business areas.
- Lead the development and documentation of departmental instructions and workflows.
- Support the team with jurisdictional compliance projects.
- Ensuring confirmed Data Incidents (actual or potential breach of personal or confidential information) are sent to appropriate parties and escalated following guidelines.
- Coordinate and partner with the Business and Technology to ensure the Privacy Team is aware of all new projects that contain personal data.
- Actively work with CMDB team and educate the business on entering all assets in CMDB
- Establish and implement effective Privacy data management practices.
- Drive clear communication and education about Privacy policies and procedures and supporting our training and education efforts across the division.
- Become a Subject Matter Expert for the datasets that contain Personal Data within MI. Understanding what personal data is published, how it is collected, used and processed, and where it is stored.
- Become a Privacy subject matter expert as you gather knowledge on key privacy terms and an understanding of US and global key privacy legislation and how they impact our business.
- Ensure detailed documentation, notes, and necessary training material along with training sessions for reference and replay purposes for all major workflows.
- Engage with and support Data Governance projects across the division and enterprise.
- Develop and maintain key department reporting and risk metrics.
- Other tasks and projects as assigned.
