Qualification:
You must have completed your legal studies of Austrian law with exceptional results, be able to communicate, read and draft fluently both in English and German, be comfortable working with colleagues from diverse backgrounds, be a self-motivated entrepreneurial thinker and value legal creativity. Additional assets – but not requirements – include
(i) previous exposure to arbitration (including, for example, participation in moot court competitions like Vis Moot / Jessup and/or relevant course work),
(ii) previous experience working or interning in a law firm;
(iii) academic or work experience abroad, particularly in an English-speaking country; and
(iv) completion of the clerkship required for admission to the Austrian bar (Gerichtspraxis).
Responsibilities:
Your future job with them will include a diverse range of tasks in advising and representing international clients in relation to arbitration disputes. This includes:
- Conducting in-depth factual research (through document review, witness interviews, etc) across a wide variety of industries
- Conducting legal research on points of national and international law
- Drafting memoranda and analyses of disputed issues for internal and client consideration
- Drafting legal briefs for submission to arbitral tribunals; and
- Engaging in proactive business development and market profiling activities.
