Let legal ideas turn into legal enterprises.
So… You’ve Got a Legal Idea? Maybe it’s a legal-tech app. Maybe it’s a fresh take on how law should be taught. Maybe you just see something broken in the system—and you have an idea to fix it. Whatever it is, don’t let it stay an idea.
The YLCC National Legal Entrepreneurship Challenge is here to help you turn that idea into something real. A project. A platform. A startup. A story you’ll tell for years.
If you’re someone who wants to solve real problems in law—not just talk about them—this is your playground.
What’s this challenge about?
This isn’t another moot. It’s not a drafting competition. It’s something way cooler.
It’s about:
- Finding real legal, policy, justice, or compliance-related problems
- Coming up with innovative, actionable solutions
- And actually building something that can grow
We’re bringing together law students from across India and giving them a chance to:
- Think like founders
- Pitch to real experts
- Win cash prizes and recognition
- And most importantly, build something meaningful
Who can apply?
Simple. If you’re:
- Only Law Students Are Eligible to apply (2025 batch students can participate too)
- Someone with a fresh legal idea
- Ready to build, pitch and stand out
…then this challenge is for you.
You can participate solo or as a team of up to 3. And don’t worry — everything happens online (except maybe the finale, which might be hybrid for select cities).
What can you build?
Pick a track that excites you the most. Here are some suggestive domains:
- Legal-Tech – Build tools that make law faster, better, and more accessible
- Legal Education/EdTech – Rethink how law is taught and learned
- Access to Justice – Ideas that bridge the justice gap
- Law & Policy – Policy reforms, think tanks, research platforms
- Legal Consulting for Startups/MSMEs – Help the businesses that need it most
- Anything else in the legal domain – We’re all ears!
If it’s legal. If it solves something. If it’s ambitious—we want to see it.
