Responsibilities:
Prosecution
– Monitoring Trade Mark Journals
– Drafting and filing trademark applications and supporting documentation
– Preparing replies to Examination Reports
– Filing and managing IP forms such as Name changes, Assignment deeds, Divisional applications, Renewals, Review petitions and interlocutory petitions
– Assisting in the filing and prosecution of international trademark applications
Opposition & Cancellations
– Drafting and filing Notices of Opposition, Counter Statements Evidence Affidavits under Rules 45, 46, & 47 of the Trade Marks Rules, 2017
– Hearings: Attending Show Cause and Opposition Hearings at the Trade Marks Registry
Advisory & Enforcement
– Conducting public searches and preparing registrability/use opinions
– Drafting and sending cease-and-desist notices
– Providing legal opinions on the registrability of marks and prospects for litigation
