About:

Location:
Ministry of External Affairs (South Block/Jawaharlal Nehru Bhawan/Sushma Swaraj Bhawan/Patiala House/ISIL Building/Akbar Bhawan/CCS Building), New Delhi.
Qualification:
- The applicant should only be an Indian national.
- The applicant should possess Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Law.
- The applicant should possess work experience of at least two years in litigation or as a Researcher/Consultant in the field.
- Good English and Hindi speaking and writing skills.
- Good knowledge of computers for preparing documents, presentations, data-sheets.
- The applicant should not be more than 40 years of age as on the last date of submission of application and should be in good health.
- For retired Government of India servant, applicant should have retired at a pay level of 11 or 12 and should not be more than 63 years of age as on last date of submission of application
Desirable Qualifications:
- Work experience in Government of India/State Governments will be preferred.
- Understanding of rules and procedures on personnel and service matters in Government of India.
- The applicant should be willing to travel to other geographies, if needed for functional reasons.
Responsibilities:
- Providing legal advice to the Division on all legal matters pertaining to Administration Division.
- Liaising with lawyers and arbitrators, and assisting in preparation of legal replies in court matters.
- Attending court hearings with Ministry and preparing records of the hearing.
- Monitoring all ongoing Court cases and maintaining status report.
- Legal vetting of documents and examination of cases.
- Analyzing legal issues and recommending course of action.
- Any other tasks assigned by the Head of the Division.
