About:
IFSCA is India’s unified regulator for international financial services with a mandate to develop and promote India as a global financial hub.
Role:
Consultant Garde 2- Legal
Qualification:
The Candidate must be a law graduate having a Bachelor Degree in law (three years professional course or five years, including Integrated Degree course in law) with a first class from any School/ College/University/Institution established by law in India and recognized by Bar Council of India for enrolment as an Advocate.
Desirable: The candidates who possess master’s degree in law.
Responsibilities:
a) Attending legal work inter-alia drafting, vetting and rendering opinions on legal aspects of financial services market.
b) Conducting research, review and comparative studies on legal matters and deriving legal analysis, thereon.
c) Scrutiny of files involving Legal issues / Policy nature issues & drafting / assisting for submission of proposals involving legal matters.
Various other incidental duties and functions as may be assigned from time to time.
Experience:
a) In-depth understanding of the regulatory framework/ working knowledge of the relevant Acts, rules and regulations etc., concerning the financial services market or IFSC.
b) Drafting and vetting of various legal documents including bills, regulations, notifications, circulars, MoUs, and other ancillary documents.
c) Ability to apply legal principles, concepts, policies, for the review, examination and processing of a range of legal issues and documents.
d) Analytical skills to conduct legal research on existing domestic and international laws, treaties, conventions, etc.
e) Experience with policies, procedures, best practices and operations of the global and domestic financial services market.
Note: Preference to be given to the candidates with:
- Prior regulatory work experience in the global or domestic financial sector, including alternate dispute resolution matters or SEZ.
- At least one legal research paper published in a reputed law journal.
