Role:
Corporate Counsel
Qualification:
- Qualified to practice law in India with active Bar Admission
- Bachelor’s degree in law from top tier law school
- 3-6 minimum years of relevant in-house or law firm experience (as licensed counsel)
- Corporate legal related legal disciplines strongly preferred
- Proven knowledge of relevant legal and regulatory frameworks in India
- Strong legal research and writing skills
- Demonstrated understanding of contract law, corporate governance, and regulatory frameworks
- Ability to apply foundational legal or regulatory theories to legal matters; learns quickly through coaching
- Proactively takes initiative, responds effectively to changing priorities, and delivers results with urgency across a broad range of matters.
- Ability to support and conduct negotiations
- Experience drafting demand letters, discovery, litigation briefing, and settlement agreements preferred
- Experience conducting and/or advising on workplace investigations preferred
- Accepts feedback; proactively learns and identifies learning opportunities
- Adapts to ambiguity, is open to new ideas, and adjusts to changing needs
- Ability to handle tasks independently with minimal supervision, while receiving regular direction from Senior Counsel or other legal team members
- Accountable and proactive self-starter, comfortable working independently
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage and prioritize multiple assigned tasks
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in the English language
- Experience in a fast-paced and dynamic organization, with demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities
- Highly approachable, collegial, and collaborative team player
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Ability to work individually and as part of a team in a cross-cultural environment
- Willingness and ability to travel within country as needed for business purposes
Responsibilities:
- Provide legal support and advice to within Marvell’s India operations on a variety of commercial, employment, and regulatory matters
- Assist with drafting, reviewing, and revising contracts and other legal documents
- Conduct legal review of Marvell’s business initiatives, provide solution-oriented practical advice to facilitate innovation
- Support negotiations by preparing research, first drafts, and issue lists
- Support litigation and claims, and negotiations of disputes
- Prepare, revise, and enhance Company policies and procedures in line with global policies and standards
- Work with external legal counsel regarding specific matters requiring expert advice
- Conduct and oversee internal investigations
- Support design and delivery of training
- Collaboratively work with cross functional, and geographically diverse stakeholders to drive matters to completion
- Identify, assess, and mitigate risks
- Learn Marvell’s products and services, industry and regulatory standards, and internal practices and ways of working
- Adapt to ambiguity, remain open to new ideas, and adjust to changing needs and priorities
- Perform other legal support tasks as assigned by Senior Counsel, India
