About:
They are a Goa-based social science research collective. They study radical transitions that will shape India’s long-term future.
They conduct multidisciplinary research on the complex interplay between technology, society and sustainability in transition processes. They bridge the gap between new knowledge, public policy and societal action.
Role:
Digital Society Programme – Intern
Location:
Remote
Qualification:
- Enrollment in the final year of an undergraduate or master’s program specialising in Law, Public Policy, Data Science, Science and Technology Studies, or related fields.
- A solid foundation in digital data, data protection, and digital and AI ethics.
- Demonstrated research, analytical, and writing prowess.
- Capability to operate both independently and collaboratively in a remote work setting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and adeptness in utilising virtual collaboration tools.
- A strong commitment to the ethos of sustainability, environmental justice, and ethical practice.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous exposure to or academic coursework related to data protection, AI Ethics and Regulation and Science and Technology Studies.
- Able to commit full-time for a minimum period of minimum 3 months.
- Availability to start as soon as possible.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive research on digitalisation’s impact on society, work and the economy, focusing on sustainability and environmental justice.
- Actively participate in developing reports and policy briefs.
- Provide insightful analysis of ongoing discourse on data and AI regulation in India and globally, identifying trends, challenges, and opportunities for policy interventions.
- Work collaboratively with team members on various projects, offering fresh perspectives and strategies.
- Contribute to meetings and workshops, providing informed opinions and keeping abreast of recent developments in data and AI regulation
