About:
The Ministry of Women and Child Development, Government of India, came into existence as a separate Ministry with effect from 30th January, 2006, earlier since 1985 it was a Department under the Ministry of Human Resources Development.
The Ministry was constituted with the prime intention of addressing gaps in State action for women and children for promoting inter-Ministerial and inter-sectoral convergence to create gender equitable and child-centered legislation, policies and programme.
Duration:
The internship programme will be offered in four distinct terms throughout the financial year: May-June, August-September, November-December, and February-March, each with a duration of two months.
Requirements:
Women students, scholars, social activists and teachers from non-tier-I cities and rural parts of India will be eligible for the program. The women students, scholars, social activists, teachers (herein after referred to as interns) need to be enrolled in/associated with any university/ academic/ non-academic institution.
How to Apply:
Interested candidates can Apply here. The applications can be submitted two months prior to the start of the internship, between 1st and 10th of the month (e.g. 1st -10th March for May-June, 1st -10th June for August-September etc.). Any candidate once selected for the internship shall not be eligible to apply for any subsequent term.
