Mission Accessibility is an initiative aimed at progressively dismantling the barriers faced by persons with disabilities in accessing apps and websites in India. They share the conviction that digital accessibility is a right that every person with disability in India must be able to enjoy. They seek to constructively engage with the developers of platforms that are inaccessible to disabled users and empower such users to voice their concerns in a productive and practically useful fashion.
In their journey so far they have worked with reputable brands such as Hotstar, Urban Company, Rapido, Axis Bank and the like to help make their offerings accessible to Persons with Disability. They have also given talks at various educational institutions on ‘Digital Accessibility as a Right’ to generate public awareness in this field. Qualifications:
The candidate must be a 3rd, 4th or 5th year law student in case of 5-year law course, and 2nd or 3rd year law student in case of 3-year law course.
Responsibilities:
- Help with strategic litigation and other research commitments.
- Please note that this will be a full-time internship, ie, about 30-40 hours per week.
- Other than heavy legal research, they will need their assistance with communications (drafting emails, setting up meetings, operating social media, making posters).
Stipend:
The intern will be paid 5000 INR per month.
