About:
Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), New Delhi is a statutory body set up under an Act of Parliament viz., TRAI Act, 1997. TRAI has been established to regulate the Telecommunications Services and to protect the interest of service providers and consumers of the telecom sector, to promote and ensure orderly growth of the telecom sector and for matters connected therewith or incidental thereto. The functions relating to regulation of Broadcasting and Cable Services Sectors have also been entrusted to TRAI from 2004.

Qualification:
- Bachelor of Laws (LLB)
- Any other degree/ diploma/ certificate course in regulatory law
- Proficiency and working knowledge of legal software’s such as SCC online, Manupatra etc. for collecting and collating judgments of different Courts of Law on a given subject.
- Should have a working knowledge of Computers and proficient in Word, Excel, Power Point etc.
Post Qualification Experience:
- At least three years of experience in legal matters, knowledge about the regulatory laws and experience in dealing with court cases.
- Experience in Telecom and Broadcasting Regulatory matters.
Responsibilities:
(a) To assist in drafting and vetting qf regulations, tariff orders, directions and other legal documents. (b) To prepare case briefs and assist in management of litigation involving TRAI.
(c) To work in close co-ordination with the Advocates/retainer counsels, Advocate-onRecord and Senior Advocates representing TRAI before various legal forums in Delhi and outside.
(d) To carry out the research work and prepare the background paper on regulatory framework in other countries across the world, viz-a-viz the corresponding prevalent law and impact of such law on the regulatory framework.
(e) To assist the Officers of Legal Division in research relating to the case laws pertaining to the Court case in which TRAI is a party.
(f) To maintain category wise, court wise database of court cases and the judgments of various Courts of Law therein.
(g) To assist the officers of Legal Division in providing inputs to the Advocates/Retainer Counsels/Senior Advocates on legal points with the help of online database of Legal Cases, so that the interest of the Authority be protected in the Courts of Law.
(h) To attend the Court Proceedings (virtual or physical mode).
(i) Any other work as may be assigned by Senior Officers
