Qualification:
- Has 2- 4 years of experience in general commercial contracting, copyright act and employment law advisory;
- Has strong drafting, negotiation, and legal advisory skills;
- Can provide legal support across Corporate, HR and Studios functions – including acquisition, content production, employment matters, and general commercial contracting;
- Is a team player with a solution-oriented approach and strong communication skills;
- Has in-depth knowledge of the Copyright Act, Contracts Act;
- Additional knowledge of various labour and employment laws is preferred, but not mandatory;
- Has LLB degree.
Responsibilities:
- Structure, negotiate, review, draft and close agreements in connection with general spends of JioStar including for the HR, F&CS, IT, Network Marketing team;
- Structure, draft, negotiate, review, and close agreements in connection with the production, acquisition, marketing, distribution and exploitation of intellectual property rights in various kinds of audio-visual content.
- Assist and advise various sub-teams within the HR department regarding employment and labour law issues involved in day-to-day operations of JioStar, drafting & review HR policies, advising on various employee disputes, and other contractual rights and obligations of the Company under various agreements.
- Conduct necessary due diligence, rights check prior to acquisition or exploitation of content including creation, maintenance and periodic up-dation of the rights management database and other reports and checklists.
- Assist and advise the officers and senior management of the Company with respect to contractual rights and obligations, intellectual property rights and dispute resolution.
- Consultation and coordination with the external advocates and counsel of the Company.
