About:
The PCA is an intergovernmental organization founded at the first Hague Peace Conference in 1899 to provide a forum for the resolution of international disputes through arbitration and other peaceful means. It is headquartered in the Peace Palace, which was constructed to house the PCA and completed in 1913. The staff of the PCA is comprised of approximately 70 legal, editorial, and administrative staff members of various nationalities, dedicated to facilitating the resolution of disputes involving states, state entities, international organizations, and private parties.

Case Manager/Assistant
Qualifications:
- a minimum of two years of relevant experience in a similar role, preferably at a law firm, an arbitral institution, or an international organization;
- advanced competency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel;
- strong organizational and time management skills, including the ability to balance conflicting priorities under time pressure;
- a high level of attention to detail;
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
- a can-do attitude;
- initiative and willingness to lend a helping hand;
- accountability for delegated tasks and dedication to the work of the organization as a whole; and
- reliability and trustworthiness.
- Fluency in written and spoken English is essential; fluency in French and Dutch is highly desirable, as are abilities in any other languages.
Responsibilities:
- providing secretarial and administrative support to the Deputy Secretaries-General and staff of the International Bureau;
- drafting, proofreading, editing, and formatting correspondence, reports, memorandums, and other documents;
- assisting with the elaboration of materials for professional and academic presentations;
- taking minutes of meetings;
- maintaining an effective filing system;
- assisting with organizing hearings and meetings taking place worldwide in international arbitration cases and other diplomatic and professional contexts;
- supporting the Deputy Secretaries-General (as well as the Secretary-General and Assistant to the Secretary-General) with the activities of the PCA Administrative Council, Budget Committee, and Financial Committee;
- supporting the Deputy Secretaries-General with managing the PCA host country agreement program and other contacts with officials from PCA Contracting Parties on a variety of matters;
- managing the calendars of the Deputy Secretaries-General and assisting with meetings and appointments;
- making travel arrangements, including obtaining visas for destinations worldwide;
- liaising with internal and external contacts in a professional manner;
- transmitting (mail, courier, fax, etc.), scanning, and reproducing documents;
- replacing the Assistant to the Secretary-General when the need arises; and
- performing other tasks as directed.
Salary:
Remuneration is in accordance with the B grade range of the Coordinated Organizations Salary Scales for the Netherlands, commensurate with the successful candidate’s education and experience.
