Qualification:
- JD Degree and active admission to practice law in a U.S. jurisdiction where you reside is required.
- A minimum of five (5) years of experience gained working in a fast-paced technology company, preferably healthcare IT with a focus on privacy, including HIPAA, CPRA, and the changing landscape of US Privacy laws is required.
- Optional, but Preferred: CIPP/US, CIPM, CIPT or CISSP.
- Ability to translate complex legal concepts into timely, clear, concise, and business-focused legal advice for internal stakeholders.
- Commitment to customer service (yes, our internal stakeholders are our customers) and meeting the needs of diverse stakeholders within the organization, including Security, Product, and Sales.
- Ability to manage change within a fast-paced organization.
- Excellent project management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficient computer skills including MS Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint and Excel.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively and proactively provide sound legal advice, exercise good business judgement, and demonstrate business acumen.
Responsibilities:
- Review, draft, analyze, and negotiate various types of pilots, alliances, teaming agreements, reseller agreements for product compliance, privacy and security provisions.
- Participate in the Company’s ongoing efforts to revise and develop contract templates as related to product offerings.
- Partner with IT and product teams to assess privacy risks with a new/updated software tool or services and support go-to-market strategy for new product offerings.
- Work cross-functionally with Product Teams to develop and implement privacy-by-design principles.
- Work cross-functionally on a wide variety of compliance issues for product-legal, including CONUS/OCONUS, AI, Accessibility, and Marketing.
- Maintain privacy and related training documentation, including privacy notices, privacy policies, incident response templates and table-top exercises and training for HIPAA, Fraud, Waste & Abuse, and Artificial Intelligence.
- Assist with special projects as needed.
