Qualifications:
- A Ph.D. or equivalent legal degree from a recognized institution.
- A distinguished record of scholarship and teaching in law and constitutional studies.
- Previous administrative experience in an academic leadership role.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Visionary leadership and strategic planning abilities.
- Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
- Knowledge of accreditation and quality assurance processes in higher education.
- Demonstrated ability to cultivate external partnerships and support fundraising efforts.
Responsibilities:
The Dean of the School of Law and Constitutional Studies at Shobhit University is a senior academic leader responsible for providing visionary leadership and strategic direction to the School. This role involves overseeing the academic, administrative, and research activities within the School, ensuring the highest standards of education and scholarship, fostering a conducive learning environment, and building strong industry and community partnerships. The Dean will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of legal education and promoting constitutional studies within the university.
Academic Leadership:
- Develop and implement academic policies and programs that align with the School’s mission and vision.
- Foster an inclusive and diverse learning environment that supports the intellectual and personal growth of students.
- Promote excellence in teaching, research, and scholarly activities among faculty members.
- Oversee curriculum development, assessment, and accreditation processes to maintain high-quality educational standards.
- Provide mentoring and support for faculty and staff within the School.
Strategic Planning and Development:
- Create and execute a strategic plan for the School that aligns with the university’s overall strategic goals.
- Identify opportunities for growth and innovation in legal education and constitutional studies.
- Cultivate relationships with external organizations, including legal firms, government agencies, and non-profit organizations, to enhance the School’s reputation and opportunities for students.
Research and Scholarship:
- Encourage and support faculty research and publication in the field of law and constitutional studies.
- Seek external funding and grants to support research initiatives.
- Promote interdisciplinary collaboration and partnerships with other academic units within the university.
Student Engagement and Support:
- Champion student success by creating a supportive and inclusive learning environment.
- Oversee student recruitment, admissions, and academic advising processes.
- Address student concerns and ensure timely resolution of academic issues.
- Promote co-curricular and extracurricular activities related to law and constitutional studies.
Administrative Oversight:
- Manage the budget and resources of the School effectively and efficiently.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and policies.
- Supervise administrative staff and promote a culture of teamwork and professionalism.
Community Engagement and Outreach:
- Represent the School and the university in legal and constitutional forums.
- Engage with alumni, legal professionals, and relevant organizations to build partnerships and collaborations.
- Promote the School’s contributions to the local and global community through outreach programs and public lectures.
