Geographic Legal Counsel Manager
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law Certifications and Membership:
- Compliance related global professional certification considered a plus.
- Minimum of 10 to 13 years of experience at law firm or as in-house counsel and/or in legal outsourcing
- Good experience at law firm and/or as in-house counsel in generic/legal research and reporting, contracts, ethics, and compliance area; experience in entity matters and controllership, preferred
- Experience in managing end-to-end projects and teams on function specific processes and/or areas, worked with internal and external teams, and understands delivery requirements
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, is detail-oriented, has sound judgement, is adaptable, demonstrate promptness, accuracy, and consistency with the activities supported, take complete ownership, and drive tasks to closure, has strong time management, prioritization, organizational skills
- Good understanding of Accenture offerings and function specific services performed, very good understanding of commercial agreements, legal and compliance fundamentals, corporate business practices, and contracting regulations
- Build trust-based relationships by delivering on commitments, ability to work under pressure, with exposure to senior management and effectively manage stakeholder expectations
- Comfortable with technology and has experience in the use of tools & databases

Responsibilities:

- Manages large – medium sized teams and/or work efforts (if in an individual contributor role) at a client or within Accenture.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Very good understanding of Legal/GLN, and CORE area needs, goals, strategy, and opportunities, with very good understanding of relevant company policies
- Enhance subject-matter knowledge and proficiency in the concerned support area, act as a POC and escalation point for support area, understand, suggest, and encourage process improvements in the support area, build credible and effective relationships with onshore counsels and within GLN team
- Supervise the management of SharePoint and communication records, ensure creation of checklists and other process documents
- Identify and implement new initiatives in CORE support area or within Legal/GLN, ability to represent GLN, directly liaison with internal stakeholders on various issues, identify and drive trainings for the team for upskilling and professional development
- Drive recruitment efforts for the team, provide coaching and mentoring to junior members of the team, effective management of direct reports and team; quick conflict resolution, provide feedback to team members and drive talent discussions for the team
- Collaborate with tech team in development of new tool or enhancement of existing ones
- Commit to ‘give back’ to GLN/Legal Specific Responsibilities aligned to Role
- Assisting, advising, and performing legal due diligences for geographic expansions and for work in countries considered “high risk” under AP55/68.
- Manage AP67 coordination process and training.
- Developing and maintaining trusted working relationships with key personnel and SME’s regionally e.g., Treasury, Tax, Controllership, GAP, Local Legal Groups, and External Counsel from all countries.
- Draft and implement corporate documentation for entities within region (Articles of Associations and By-Laws; Minutes of Board and Shareholders Meetings; Powers of Attorney and Proxies; Recapitalization documentation).
- Manage corporate secretarial matters, including documentation necessary to appoint/dismiss Directors and other Corporate Officers.
- Maintenance of “Entity Matters” information for responsible countries.
- Instruct External Counsel resources on specific projects.
- Support the team with matters relating to ensuring Policy compliance, research, and advisory matters.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders on various legal and commercial issues.
- Experienced in building credible and effective relationships within Legal team and with business and/or external Clients (as applicable);
- Escalate appropriately where needed and coordinate matters with internal and external stakeholders to find solutions.
- Coordinate and undertake legal assessments on regional/global projects, policies, and compliance initiatives.
- Identify process improvements in Entity Matters or Corporate Functions domains and drive team in developing/drafting of guidelines, handbooks, know how material, checklists, and process/tools associated documents (global/regional and local) for standardizing the process.
- Supervision of junior team members and responsible for quality of data in GEMS.
- Effective management of escalations and presentations to senior management on entity matters strategies and projects.
