Qualifications:
• Experience level: Minimum 12 years working experience in relevant fields.
• Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school and admission to a state bar or a Legal qualification from a reputed Law School
• Minimum 12 years of experience in renewable energy legal practice, with a focus on project development, financing, construction, operations, and compliance.
• Demonstrable M&A transactional experience in India
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to analyze complex legal issues and provide practical solutions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, Global matrix environment with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
• Experience working with senior management and providing strategic legal advice.
• Knowledge of renewable energy law and a comprehensive understanding of applicable regulations and trends.
• Experience managing outside counsel and legal budgets.
Responsibilities:
• Provide legal advice and guidance to the company’s management team on legal matters related to the renewable energy industry, including project development, financing, construction, operations, and compliance.
• Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal agreements, including project contracts, financing agreements, and corporate documents.
• Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations, including environmental and energy regulations, and maintain a comprehensive understanding of applicable regulations and trends.
• Conduct legal due diligence on potential project transactions and participate in post-project development and construction activities.
• Manage outside counsel and provide guidance on legal issues as needed.
• Participate in the development and implementation of corporate policies and procedures related to renewable energy projects.
• Provide legal advice and support to other departments, such as human resources and finance, as needed.
• Stay up-to-date with Renewable Energy industry trends, regulatory requirements, and best practices to ensure the company is well-positioned to navigate the rapidly evolving renewable energy landscape.
