Legal Associate
Qualifications:
- L.L.B degree.
- 3-5 years practicing law, including experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts and advising clients on legal issues, preferably in the financial services industry. Candidates with fewer years PQE may be considered with the right combination of maturity, relevant experience, and motivation to learn.
- Some law firm experience and/or some in-house experience is helpful (preferably both).
- Positive, results-oriented outlook, with attention to detail.
- Organizational capability to manage multiple projects and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues.
Responsibilities:
- Negotiate a variety of client-facing technology and data agreements to provide MSCI services, including data and software licenses, financial product licenses, managed services agreements, and redistribution arrangements.
- Contribute to and advance special company projects, including helping to develop templates, policies and procedures to make internal processes more efficient or to license new business opportunities.
- Work closely with the business to negotiate and close deals and develop appropriate schedules to legal agreements to license MSCI’s products and services to clients.
- Assist the RFP team with reviews of requests for proposal or information (RFPs/RFIs) as well as confidentiality agreements related to such client procurement processes.
- Participate in and present in-house training covering new contract templates or updates on internal procedures for colleagues within both the legal team and other business groups.
- Assist the Sales Operations team with legal queries to ensure high volume flow-through achieved for standard contracts.
