Legal Contracts Associate
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience with procurement agreements or management.
- Experience in project management involving data analysis, reporting, timeline estimation, issue tracking, meeting facilitation, or process documentation
- Experience with vendor management.
- Ability to work cross-functionally on workstreams
- Ability to influence and negotiate agreements
- Passion for process improvement.
- Excellent organization, planning, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Can help coordinate the business and legal tasks associated with the day-to-day operations of a technology company.
- Works well in a small department and with colleagues across the business; possesses the ability to self-start and work independently.
- Relevant experience with commercial contracts, preferably for an international technology company, is an asset.
- Exhibits independent thinking and can take the initiative on projects through to completion.
- Is technologically curious and savvy.
- Is cool-headed, approachable, organized, and an excellent writer and communicator.
- Is willing to learn and adapt to the constant changes that are present in startup life.
- Is humble and comes ready to learn and learn quickly
Responsibilities:
- Develop, oversee, and improve standardized forms, processes, and procedures for the legal function across the organization.
- Track the progress of negotiations and coordinate communication between Legal and internal stakeholders to facilitate deal closing.
- Track legal KPIs to identify pain points and areas of improvement.
- Serve as a key entry point into the legal, including reviewing and assigning to other Legal team members unassigned requests coming into Legal.
- Collaborate with Sales Enablement to create legal training materials for Sales and other customer-facing teams.
- Build and maintain processes and playbooks to ensure consistent best practices in negotiating.
- Advise business colleagues and other cross-functional stakeholders on issues and risks, approval processes, company policies, and procedures.
- Assist with special project assignments, e.g. compliance, and corporate projects as needed; other duties as requested.
