Legal Manager
Qualifications:
- ∙ Qualifications: LLB
- ∙ Minimum 7 years of experience in legal department, or assisting legal head
- ∙ Working knowledge of various legal documents i.e., contracts, non-disclosure agreements etc.
- ∙ Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- ∙ Ability to maintain utmost confidentiality of information in a professional and extremely discrete manner
- ∙ Excellent interpersonal skills with high level of proficiency in written English
- ∙ Very high attention to detail, with strong focus on producing the highest quality of work and on ensuring optimum accuracy of outputs
- ∙ Self-starter with a sense of urgency and ability to prioritise
- ∙ Well organised and efficient, with the capacity to work under pressure
- ∙ Eager and willing to learn with ability to follow directions
Responsibilities:
The main objective of the role is to improve the efficiency of the Directors’ office and support the Director- Finance & Operations with contracts, agreements and the execution of legal initiatives and projects. The position will work towards fulfilling the needs of the internal departments and overseas group companies.
Reporting Relationships:
- -Liaise with internal colleagues and external counsel
- -Directly reports to Director- Finance & Operations
- -Legal coordinator reports to this position
Duties and Key Responsibilities:
- ∙ Liaise with external counsel and update/prepare templates for agreements of various types e.g., NDAs, service procurement contracts, revenue contracts etc.
- ∙ Draft various documents in pre-defined formats i.e., contracts, agreements, non-disclosure agreements etc. after understanding the need of the internal client
- ∙ Correspond with external counsel as and when required on various matters
- ∙ Monitor the flow of the documents and ensure all stipulated timelines are met
- ∙ Respond to the needs of internal clients of different departments and overseas group entities.
- ∙ Act as a contact point for all the requests and queries related to the contracts, agreements etc and take appropriate action
- ∙ Resolve queries and provide advice (with input from external counsel) about labour laws, Shops & Establishment Act etc.
- ∙ Coordinate and follow up with internal departments to ensure smooth workflow
- ∙ Proof-read various documents and ensure that documents submitted for signatures are error-free and ready-to-sign
- ∙ Coordinate signatures (physical and through e-signature platforms) on documents, agreements etc from various signatories
- ∙ Manage, organize, and maintain documents in paper or electronic filing system to ensure quick retrieval as required. Ensure legal register is updated real-time
- ∙ Take lead in implementing contract management system
- ∙ Take lead in implementing compliance management system
- ∙ Other tasks to improve the turnaround time, improve efficiency etc.
- ∙ Train, guide and supervise team member(s)
