Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree or foreign equivalent required from an accredited institution.
- At least 3 years of relevant work experience, with at least a portion spent employment law, human resources. or immigration/global motility functions.
- Recognized paralegal certification.
- Ability to work with professionals across the globe.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, and organization skills.
- Utmost integrity in handling employee data and confidential legal matters.
- Experience supporting multiple lawyers.
- Experience with Office 365
Preferred
- Proficiency with Thompson Reuters Legal Tracker or similar case management/billing database
- Experiencing working with an in-house legal department.
Responsibilities:
- Project manage and track various immigration law projects and initiatives, including but not limited to communicating with external law firm counsel regarding matter management, maintaining various project and committee trackers, and working with internal stakeholders.
- Act as trusted liaison with Infosys Global Immigration team, located in both Bangalore and Texas, USA, to facilitate close partnership between Global Immigration and Immigration Legal.
- Prepare and assist with regular billing and reporting requirements, including analyzing law firm spend.
- Open and maintain case files in Legal Tracker case management database, legal memos database, and in other applications;
- Adhering to and further development of knowledge management/retention practices in SharePoint and other applications.
- Support compliance efforts through various audit initiatives.
- Monitor various publications for new regulatory developments in the immigration space.
- Assist in developing legal department best practices;
- Partner with stakeholders to collect records as required for claim management.
- Other legal and administrative projects as needed.
Expanded responsibilities possible depending on your interests and experience. You will work regularly with teams across the globe and directly report to a U.S. based immigration/employment attorney. Both excellent communication skills and a flexible work approach are needed when working with colleagues with diverse backgrounds in multiple time zones.
