Principal Associate – GST Advisory

Qualifications:
- CA or LLB from a known Law School with strong academic track record.
- Very good English (can converse with fluency – very important requirement), academic background, good personality
- Experience: 5-7 years in Indirect tax in the field of Indirect Tax Advisory
Responsibilities:
The incumbent will handle engagements related to Indirect Tax Laws, Appeals, Tax Restructuring, Tax Advisory and consulting pertaining to GST and/ or customs.
Partnering and Building Relationships, Lead role in client service delivery. Acts as a Trusted Business Advisor
• Participates in advising clients on strategic issues and understanding client’s needs
• Plays a strong role in involving multi-disciplinary teams across the BU in providing services to important accounts
Sound commercial acumen
• Provides a perspective on global trends, emerging industry issues and emerging practices on client assignments. Is able to proactively alert clients on business environment changes that impact (or would impact) the client
Marketing & Business Development
• Creates and manages strong independent relationships with clients at senior positions with minimal partner involvement, expands client base with new wins and conversions (both existing and new clients) for the business unit.
• Has strong internal and external network s. These are leveraged for building and growing the firm’s business
Leads and coordinates the planning and management of medium/large assignments, independently
• Pricing, Billing & Recovery
• Identifying new opportunities to approach potential clients and communicating to team leaders
Leadership & Team Work
• Proactively takes a leadership role where appropriate
• Creates a climate of high performance in the team
• Works effectively in cross service-line engagements
• Is a role model, mentor and coach
• Is approached by members of service line to assist in resolving people issues
• Is an ambassador of the firm and projects the firm’s values in conduct
• Contributes to talent acquisition by tapping external networks to identify / refer high quality candidates for the business unit.
• Take lead in study sessions, client training sessions etc.
• Encourage and guide team members in writing article, monographs to help increasing firm’s visibility
