About:
Cell for IPR Promotion & Management (CIPAM) is a professional body under the aegis of Department of Industrial Policy & Promotion (DIPP), Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Government of India.
CIPAM is working towards ensuring focused action on issues related to IPRs and addresses the 7 objectives of the National IPR Policy adopted by the Indian Cabinet in May 2016. CIPAM assists in simplifying and streamlining of IP processes, apart from undertaking further steps for furthering IPR awareness, commercialization and enforcement.
Role:
Senior Consultant
Qualification:
- Master’s Degree in Law with 10 years of post-qualification working experience.
- Age limit- Below 62 years as on January 1st, 2025
- Desirable Qualification:
a. Candidate who is a Patent Agent or has background in Patents or significant experience in the field of Patents will be given preference.
b. Candidates with a PhD degree and post-qualification experience in the field of IPR with a law firm, Academic Institution, Government Organisation or Department, Company, think tank etc. will be given preference.
Responsibilities:
- Providing expert assistance on legal and policy matters related to Intellectual Property especially Patents Law.
- Coordinating with various Government Departments, Industry Stakeholders, and International Bodies
- Providing research and advisory support on WIPO treaties and Free Trade Agreements (FTAs)
- Providing leadership effective in managing IP projects, from conception through to execution, and offering expert advice on potential amendments to Laws in the IP domain
- Supporting officials of the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) on adhoc requests
- The position requires the ability to undertake travel within India and abroad as necessary.
