Qualifications:
- Demonstrable human resources, legal or regulatory related experience for a minimum of 4 years (LLB or equivalent degree from a recognized university is preferrable). Should have a active company secretary certification
- Excellent organizational, drafting and communication skills (oral and written): commitment to excellence; confident and strong presentation skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to build and maintain strong relationships with relevant business groups within the firm; ability to work with a team of diverse individuals; ability to work collaboratively and as part of a Legal team and with HCM colleagues that is/are dispersed geographically
- Highly motivated and proactive; the ability to respond calmly, creatively and quickly in a fast-paced, high-pressure, changing environment; takes ownership of projects and has a strong work ethic
- Excellent judgment and ability to assess risks; ability to take firm positions to protect the firm’s interests; keen business acumen
Responsibilities:
- Reviewing, coordinating and ensuring timely labour law filings and internal firm reportings.
- Assisting with responding to labour law notices and meeting with jurisdictional labour authorities as required.
- Assisting on diversity initiatives, employee policies and processes and assisting in the design of internal employee training.
- Reviewing background check escalations, non-solicit/non-compete agreements, government experience disclosures, remote work arrangement escalations and ensuring compliance with firm policy and legal requirements.
- Reviewing and monitoring employment law developments in areas of coverage and discussing potential impact on the firm, including liaising with external legal counsel as required.
- Liaising and coordinating with other relevant groups throughout the firm, including Legal, Compliance, Tax, Compensation Accounting etc. and helping to ensure that our business principles, policies and procedures, controls, professional standards and ethics are followed in the handling of personnel matters.
- Assisting the team with internal document management and filing.
The individual will also be the company secretary for their India entity(ies) and ancillary work thereto
