About:
Ministry performs planning of the growth and development of Iron and Steel Industry in the country. Major Activities of The Ministry:
- Co-ordination and planning of the growth and development of Iron and Steel Industry in the country (including Re-rolling Mills, Alloy Steel and Ferro Alloy Industries, Refractories) both in the Public and Private Sectors;
- Formulation of policies in respect of production, pricing, distribution, import and export of iron & steel, ferro alloys and refractories; and
- Development of input industries relating to iron ore, manganese ore, chrome ore and Refractories etc. , required mainly by the steel industry.
Role:
Young Professionals and Consultants Grade-1
Qualifications:
LLB from a recognized University/ Institute.
Experience:
1 year of post-qualification experience in the legal field
Responsibilities:
Young Professional shall be required to provide expert opinion and advisory services on WTO issues, trade remedial measures, and international trade matters, including the Global Forum on Steel Excess Capacity (GFSEC) under OECD. The Young Professional in Legal stream shall also be required to handle the legal matters of the Ministry/CPSEs being referred to the Ministry and give legal advice to resolve the legal issues/cases in consultation with Department of Legal Affairs, Central Government Standing Counsels, CPSEs, etc. Besides, he/she should be conversant with international trade law.
