Qualifications:
Required Skills
Legal
- Qualification under French law and/or Laws of England & Wales ; New-York law would be appreciated
- Strong knowledge of litigation/arbitration and mediation
- Ability to master application of the law to technical facts and interface with engineers, finance, commercial teams and other specialist clients
Project Management
- Project manager attitude and capabilities: be efficient and demonstrate a can-do attitude, proactively solve problems and make decisions
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently to meet demanding deadlines while ensuring that the risks for Airbus are identified and minimized
Business Environment
- Solid professional experience with a sound understanding of the business environment and constraints
- Working knowledge of aviation certification standards, the processes by which they are applied and the agencies that apply them
Strategic Thinking
- Ability to adapt to a variety of internal and external scenarios and contexts and to think strategically
- Strategic thinker, a strong communicator and a keen problem solver who knows how to assess risk and recommend solutions that balance business and risk perspectives
Finance
- Knowledge of financial indicators, analysis and translation of complex business situations to suggest best-adapted solutions (modelling and scenarios).
- Ability to conducting research and analysis of legal issues and problems to determine potential solutions
Behavioral
- English and French mandatory, German language would be a plus
- Excellent legal drafting skills

Responsibilities:
The Main Tasks And Responsibilities Will Include
- Commercial dispute management
- Within the scope of litigation/arbitration and alternative modes of dispute resolution, following all kinds of lawsuits and enforcement proceedings filed in favor of or against Airbus, including by preparing/answering letters before action, attending hearings, mediation or settlement meetings
- Deliver pragmatic legal advice and creative legal solutions to internal clients, bearing in mind business context and potential legal issues.

Pre-litigation
- Proactively anticipate risks of claims and potential commercial disputes in the day-to-day business of the company, identify and manage risks, mitigate and adapt strategy
- Manage and settle commercial disputes, claims and litigation to company’s advantage
- Promote legal awareness within the company and improve legal understanding of business teams
Contractual templates
- Update standard contract policies on the handling of commercial disputes
- Draft the corresponding standard contractual documents
Contract negotiation
- Negotiate and provide customized legal advice and guidance in contract interpretation, structuring, drafting, negotiation and risk analysis in dispute and default situations
- Negotiate efficiently with tactical knowledge of legal documents in transactions and litigations
Areas of law
- Solid understanding of French and English commercial contract law
- Provide support on disputes arising from copyright, trademark and other intellectual property issues related to Airbus products and services
- Provide support to Ethics & Compliance risk management; investigate and advise on disputes arising out of the business activities of the company
Finance
- Assess financial consequences of negotiation step or change in the environment
- Ensure clear internal understanding of legal risks at the appropriate levels
Stakeholders
- Manage longtime relationships with external counsel, engage external counsel in a strategic manner and manage all legal work products
- Coordinate and manage internal and external stakeholders in relation to a matter
- Counsel clients in technical and operational domains in relation to risks associated with customer and/or supplier contract negotiations or breaches
- Provide adequate reporting to top management and executives on key company legal risks

- Remain up to date on the latest legal developments and their impact on the Airbus business
- Be responsible for providing guidance and leadership to junior team members
- The role may require occasional business travel
