Qualifications:
• Law degree and qualified lawyer (ideally in a common law jurisdiction) with 7 to 10 years’ experience 3+ years managing document review, trademark registration/infringement processes or legal operations projects of varying size
• Experience with use of Technology Assisted Review (TAR) in document review projects Experience with contract analytics tools and ability to offer suggestions on their potential use, implementation and adoption at Olam
• Strong multi-tasking skills & excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Excellent organizational skills including ability to manage time and prioritize tasks effectively
• Excellent and proactive communicator who can perform in a client-facing role
• Ability to work both effectively as part of a team and independently in a demanding, fast-paced environment
• Flexible with working hours; and Demonstrated logical and pragmatic approach to problem solving
Responsibilities:
A prospective candidate will provide auxiliary support in reviewing standard and bespoke commercial contracts, handling basic IP and trademark administration queries and other overflow work referred to you from the global legal team in support of multiple business units and functions across the Olam group. The role is expected to grow as you work with the Senior Legal Operations Manager and Olam lawyers to provide strategic input into designing processes and controls to.
• triage legal work
• design contract playbooks
• refine and maintain in-house standardized templates
• build processes and checklists to help triage
• use appropriate legal tech to manage the operational activities
• provide initial/first support to standard queries including to review contracts, and
• register new trademarks or handling an IP infringement.
Assisting logging and tracking productivity in Olam’s matter management system on behalf of members of the global legal team
Document review workflow development and planning, having regard to any intragroup confidentiality and information barrier requirements
• First-responder to a select number of tasks to be designed together with the legal team, and triaging requests for further work by the appropriate lawyer within Olam
• Helping design controls, processes and ways of working in a way which respects business requirements and delivers on operational excellence
• Communication with key project stakeholders in the global legal team and Legal Operations Unit
• Assisting in project measurement and reporting First line of quality assurance of certain contract drafts and markups for delivery to members of the legal team and/or directly to the businesses and functions
• Delivery of document review tasks and projects on time Work collaboratively with other teams, in relation to their various document review, contract standardisation and other process workflow requirements
• Track all contract review work and certain other workflows for members of the legal team, BU and Functions including the time involved in handling related work
• Ensure proactive and effective communication and collaboration between Legal, BUs and Function and Legal Business Services Team to improve efficiency
• Develop a deep understanding of document review workflows including application of Technology Assisted Review (TAR) features
• Develop and oversee review workflows within document sharing platforms and contract analytics tools Create a dashboard and reporting mechanisms drawing from new and existing matter management systems and processes
• Provide operational support of the managed document review business including responding to client requests for information and collation of MI for reporting to leadership
• Identify and facilitate means for continuous improvement across document review services
• Respond to legal team, BU and Function inquires in a timely manner.
