Role:
Legal Counsel- India and APAC
Qualifications:
- LLB Degree and enrolled as an Advocate on the rolls of the Bar Council of at least one State.
- 5+ years of demonstrated legal experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating complex agreements for various commercial matters based on India, APAC, and MENA laws/regulations.
- Proficiency in English language required.
- Experience as in-house counsel of a global technology or higher education organization is preferred.
- Familiarity with laws impacting higher education is a plus.
- Self-motivated, flexible, and efficient working style.
- Strategic thinking and strong business acumen.
- Quality-oriented with a focus on detail and the ability to identify and resolve issues independently.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; experience interacting with small, close-knit team members and advising business units globally.
- Must be available to join the company by January 5, 2025.
Responsibilities:
- Draft, review and negotiate partnership contracts, commercial contracts, marketing and advertising contracts, vendor contracts, and IT contracts for India, APAC and MENA regions.
- Prepare and update form contracts, including collaborating with Emeritus regional counsel, as appropriate.
- Provide guidance on higher education laws and regulations impacting operations in India, APAC, and MENA.
- Train internal clients with respect to contracting processes/practices.
- Collaborate with internal subject matter experts about intercompany transactions.
- Work within an increased volume of activity in business-critical legal matters across diverse types of transactions and territories.
