Role:
Legal Counsel
Qualification:
- A qualified commercial lawyer with strong experience in contract law and regulatory matters, preferably within a multinational or e-commerce environment.
- Fluency in English is essential; proficiency in Arabic is an advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate complex, cross-border legal issues and work across cultures.
- A proactive, solutions-oriented mindset with the confidence to make sound judgments in fast-evolving, often ambiguous situations.
- Enthusiasm for e-commerce, technology, and innovation.
- Over 5 years of post-qualification at reputable law firm and/or large corporations. Some in-house experience is preferred.
- Practical experience in contract management, marketing and advertising regulations and experience in the e-commerce sector will be a major plus.
- High degree of independence, initiative, and good judgement. Commercial and pragmatic in your approach to legal advice whilst maintaining a strong sense of professional accountability.
- Experience in leading multi-jurisdictional projects and managing litigation matters across the GCC countries would be a major plus.
- Ability to deliver results, quick to actions and always keen to help. Working well both as an individual contributor and as a member of the regional and global legal teams.
Responsibilities:
- Providing legal support to business teams in the areas mentioned above for the legal teams based in The Middle East (Dubai).
- Structure, draft and negotiate a wide range of corporate and commercial agreements including those relating to marketing, brand collaboration, warehouse and logistics and drafting B2C terms and conditions.
- Help to support and learn from the senior lawyers in the team whilst working and managing external counsel in multiple jurisdictions.
- Manage and stay on top of regulatory compliance matters and related filings.
- Conduct legal research for matters relating to Middle Eastern laws.
- Support the protection and enforcement of the company’s intellectual property rights across relevant markets.
- Providing day-to-day legal support to business teams and developing strategies for handling legal issues in creative, efficient and business-centric ways.
