Role:
Consultant – Criminal Law Project
Location:
Noida
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law.
- Minimum 1–2 years’ prior experience in legal research, preferably in criminal law.
- Strong interest in public policy and law–policy interface.
- Ability to write clear, structured policy briefs and research notes.
- Demonstrated capacity to design and conduct interviews.
- Curious, analytical mindset with attention to detail.
Responsibilities:
- The consultant will support an evidence-based policy report examining the impact of India’s new criminal laws (BNS, BNSS, BSA) on the criminal justice system. The project integrates doctrinal legal research, data-backed policy analysis, and human-centric field insights, aimed at informing government and institutional stakeholders.
- Conduct legal research in criminal law, including case law, statutes, and procedural reforms.
- Support policy analysis through the synthesis of legal developments and implementation outcomes.
- Conduct structured interviews with stakeholders (judicial officers, practitioners, officials) and prepare interview notes/summaries.
- Contribute to report writing, referencing, and documentation.
