About:
The Recovery of Debts and Bankruptcy Act, 1993 (RDB Act) provides speedy redressal to lenders and borrowers through filing of Original Applications (OAs) in Debts Recovery Tribunals (DRTs) and appeals in Debts Recovery Appellate Tribunals (DRATs).
The Securitisation and Reconstruction of Financial Assets & Enforcement of Security Interest Act, 2002 (SARFAESI Act) provides access to banks and financial institutions covered under the Act for recovery of secured debts from the borrowers without the intervention of the Courts at the first stage. Securitisation Appeals (SAs) can be filed with the DRTs by those aggrieved against action taken by secured creditors under the SARFAESI Act.

Law Researcher
Qualification:
- The candidate must be a Law Graduate having a Bachelor Degree in Law (including integrated Degree Course in Law)/LLM with 55o/o minimum marks from any College/University/Institution established by law in India and recognized by the Bar Council of India for enrolment as an Advocate.
- The candidate must have the sound knowledge of computer application including retrieval of desired information from various search engines/ process.
Responsibilities:
- Reading of the case files, preparation of the case including case file and notes and chronology of the events.
- Identifying facts/issues and questions that may arise or may have to be addressed. Presence in the Court during the hearing of the cases, taking notes of arguments and citation.
- Research work on case law, books and articles for the purpose of assisting the Hon’ble Chairperson in preparation of judgments. Assisting the Hon’ble Chairperson to prepare speeches and academic papers.
- The Law Researcher will have free access to the Court Room and library and also to computer and internet. If necessary, he/ she will be allowed access to the Chamber of the Hon’ble Chairperson with the permission of Hon’ble Chairperson.
- Prepare brief summary of cases as per direction of Hon’ble Chairperson, DRAT-Delhi. Attend the Court during hearing or regular matters and take notes of the facts and arguments.
- This being a full-time assignment, during the period of engagement, the Law Researcher will not be entitled to practice as advocate or to take any other employment.
- The Law Researcher attached to DRAT-Delhi will not be entitled to appear before the DRAT-Delhi for a period of three years from the date of termination of his/ her engagement.
