Qualification:
- Education: Law degree (LL.B.) from a recognized institution.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years Post-Qualification Experience (PQE) in real estate law, with a preference for in-house experience on the compliance side of a real estate company.
- Expertise: In-depth procedural and substantive knowledge of West Bengal land laws and regulations.
- Strong project management skills with a proven ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
- Excellent negotiation, representation, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficient in legal research and documentation.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities:
- Legal Compliance Management: Ensure compliance with all applicable laws including West Bengal land laws and regulations in both commercial and residential real estate projects.
- Project Oversight: Manage and oversee real estate projects from inception to completion, ensuring all legal requirements are met.
- Representation and Negotiation: Make representations to various stakeholders, engage in discussions, and negotiate terms to safeguard the firm’s and clients’ interests.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with developers, regulatory bodies, clients, and other stakeholders to address legal and compliance issues effectively.
- Documentation: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to real estate transactions.
- Legal Research: Conduct in-depth research on West Bengal land laws and stay updated with any changes or amendments in the legal landscape.
- Problem Resolution: Identify and resolve legal issues that may arise during the course of real estate projects.
- Reporting: Prepare and present regular reports on project status, compliance, and other relevant legal matters to senior management.
