About:

Juris Doctor (JD)

Remote (based in India)
Qualification:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school. Must have passed the bar examination.
- Strong understanding of US contract law, litigation processes, and California-specific legal matters.
- Minimum 3 years of relevant legal experience, preferably with US-based law firms or corporate legal departments.
- Experience with legal document review platforms and e-discovery tools.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in legal software and remote collaboration tools.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to work across different time zones and manage deadlines effectively.
- Prior experience working in a remote or international legal support role; Familiarity with both transactional and litigation processes in California.
Responsibilities:
- Contract Generation and Review
- Draft, review, and negotiate various types of contracts, including but not limited to employment agreements, NDAs, service contracts, and sales agreements. Ensure that all contracts comply with US laws and regulations, with a specific focus on California statutes. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to address contractual issues and provide legal guidance.
- Document Review
- Conduct detailed reviews of legal documents to ensure accuracy, relevance, and compliance with legal standards
- Manage e-discovery processes, including identifying, collecting, and analyzing electronic documents pertinent to litigation. Organize and maintain legal documents and records in a systematic and accessible manner.
- Litigation Support
- Assist in preparing litigation cases, including drafting pleadings, motions, and discovery requests. Conduct legal research to support case strategies, drafting legal memos, and summarizing case law. Collaborate with US-based attorneys to develop and execute litigation strategies.
- California Transactional and Litigation Experience:
- Handle California-specific legal transactions, including real estate deals, business formations, mergers, and acquisitions. Provide support in California litigation matters, including case preparation, court filings, and interaction with California courts. Stay updated with changes in California laws and regulations and advise the legal team accordingly.
