About:
Madhya Pradesh Yatri Parivahan and Infrastructure Limited (MPYPIL) is a state government transport undertaking incorporated on July 3, 2025, based in Bhopal, India. It manages and improves passenger mobility, transport infrastructure, and digital transit systems across Madhya Pradesh
Role:
Manager – Legal and Regulatory
Location:
The candidate may be posted at any office of MPYPIL or its subsidiary companies.
Qualification:
- LL.B. with minimum 05 years of experience as a Legal Associate with a law firm or senior advocate or LL.M. from a National Law University with experience of working with a Senior Advocate.
- Registration with the Bar Council of India is mandatory.
Mandatory Experience (After acquiring the essential qualification):
- In-depth understanding of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988, Motor Vehicle Taxation Act, Central Motor Vehicles Rules and State Transport Rules.
- Experience in handling legal matters, petitions and appeals in Government departments or Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).
- Experience in compliance with Government service rules, disciplinary proceedings and departmental orders.
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in implementation of transport policies, electric vehicle policies, vehicle scrapping policies and related initiatives.
- Experience in legal scrutiny of contracts with public transport service providers, aggregator companies and private operators.
- Experience in arbitration, conciliation, or alternative dispute resolution (ADR) mechanisms.
- Experience in conducting training programs/workshops on road safety, traffic regulations and legal compliance.
- Note: Relaxation Shall be granted to retired employees of Central Government/State Government/ Public Sector Undertaking/Corporations/Boards with respect to qualification and experience. Provided that such candidate has served on a post equivalent to Assistant Director or above in the State Services.
Responsibilities:
- Providing legal advice to the Company on various legal matters.
- Reviewing Company activities in accordance with Government policies, Acts and regulations.
- Identifying legal risks and recommending appropriate corrective measures.
- Monitoring cases related to the Company before courts and tribunals.
- Coordinating with advocates to ensure effective representation ofthe Company.
- Regularly reviewing the progress of pending legal cases.
- Conducting legal scrutiny of contracts, agreements and tender documents executed by the Company.
- Preparing drafts of contracts and ensuring their legal validity.
- Reviewing contracts related to Public-Private Partnership (PPP) projects.
- Ensuring compliance with applicable Acts, rules and Government guidelines in Company operations.
- Monitoring compliance with transport, labour, taxation and other relevant laws.
- Assisting in resolution of disputes between the Company and contractors/service providers.
- Participating in arbitration and conciliation proceedings.
- Maintaining legal records, contracts and court-related documents.
- Guiding Company officials regarding legal procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Preparing status reports on legal matters and submitting them to senior authorities.
- Performing any other duties assigned by the Government or Company from time to time.
- Assisting in legal aspects of e-auctions, online permits and digital compliance systems.
