INTRODUCTION
A “group” is a gathering of people, and “Discussion” is the process of exchanging information or ideas in order to reach a certain objective. Therefore, “Group Discussion,” which is also known as GD, is a popular approach that is used by organizations nowadays days to determine if a candidate possesses certain personal qualities such as communication skills, public speaking, optimism, teamwork, leadership, social relationships, and problem-solving abilities. GDs are a crucial part of the short-listing process before recruiting a candidate. During a GD session, a topic or circumstance is presented to the candidates present, which may be factual, abstract, or case-based, and they are normally given some time to think about the topic so that they can discuss it in the group among themselves for a period of time as may be specified. The session is judged by panelists who allot each candidate a score based on the performance during the discussion.
