Associate Department: Dispute Resolution & Compliance
Job Summary:
Top-tier international law firm is seeking a mid-level litigation associate with 3+ years of general complex commercial litigation and arbitration experience to join our dispute resolution and compliance team in New York City. Cross border litigation experience is a plus but not required if candidates have handled complex litigation matters in the US. Candidates should have comprehensive experience in complex commercial litigation, including legal research, drafting pleadings and briefs, document discovery, depositions, pre-trial and trial work. Compliance, trade, and international arbitration experience is a plus. We are looking for a team player who will work as part of a group of problem solvers, helping to resolve complex cross-border disputes.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
· Supervise the work of junior associates
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Draft legal memoranda
- Draft client emails
- Draft pleadings
- Handle document discovery
- Take and defend depositions
- Pre-trial preparation
- 2d chair trial work
Required Skills/Abilities:
- JD or LLM from an ABA accredited law school
- Admitted to the New York Bar
- Experience working with complex litigation matters
- Excellent written/verbal communication skills, as this position requires immediate partner and client contact
- A high level of professionalism in working and engaging with demanding clients
- Ability to balance and prioritize multiple competing priorities and responsibilities
- Highly organized with attention to detail
- Effective team player
- Judicial clerkship experience is a plus
Education and Experience:
- Juris Doctor admitted to the New York Bar
- 3-5 years of experience in litigation and dispute resolution
Job Type:
Full-time, hybrid work schedule (work from home two to three days per week)
Pay range:
$200,000.00 – $250,000.00 per year
