The Group and role:
- Commercial Disputes – This team advises on all forms of contractual and non-contractual disputes, ranging from corporate transaction disputes concerning warranties, indemnities and completion accounts, through to claims under supply and distribution agreements, insurance disputes, product liability claims, property disputes – including our focus on specialist areas such as IT disputes, procurement challenges, competition claims and international arbitration.
- Finance Litigation – Advising across the financial services sector this team acts for banks, asset managers, investors and building societies in relation to a broad range of disputes and investigations. They have been involved in some of the most important finance litigation cases and investigations of the last 15 years.
- Global Investigations – A specialist team of corporate crime lawyers advising on all aspects of financial and corporate crime to both corporates and individuals. We have extensive experience of advising on issues relating to fraud, bribery and corruption, money laundering, market manipulation, sanctions, expert controls, cyber-crime and health and safety
The Role will involve the following key responsibilities which include:
- Working both as part of a team and individually on a variety of commercial litigation cases, to include financial disputes, property disputes, passing off claims and contractual disputes
- Managing a busy caseload in all divisions of the Irish Courts, from the District court up to the Supreme Court
- Advising clients on how to resolve disputes effectively, to include ADR options, such as mediation and arbitration
Candidates Applying For This Position Should:
Required Skills and Experience
- Be a qualified Solicitor (in Ireland) with at least 2 years relevant post qualification experience in a busy commercial litigation team
- Have experience of working effectively as part of a team and individually
- Have experience managing a large caseload
- Have experience drafting pleadings, liaising with counsel and management of case files to conclusion
- Have experience appearing before the Irish Courts, from the District Court up to the Supreme Court
- Have the ability to develop and maintain excellent working relationships with clients – have a good understanding of clients’ needs and an ability to meet their demands
- Have experience of ADR, such as mediation and arbitration
- Be highly motivated and willing to take responsibility for work requirements and client needs
- Have the ability to manage and prioritise tasks and to consistently meet deadlines
- Have the ability to effectively manage internal and external client relationships
- Have a calm and measured approach to problem solving;
- Have a flexible positive attitude towards work
