Role:
Associate Counsel- Commercial
Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law (LLB) from an accredited institution. A Master’s degree in Law (LLM) or relevant certifications is preferred.
- At least 3 years of experience working as in-house counsel in a technology-focused environment. Experience working in the SaaS industry is preferred.
- Knowledge of document comparison tools is preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to flag issues and propose solutions to complex problems.
Responsibilities:
- Work with legal team members to support the commercial needs of Edifecs’ business, including developing and maintaining working knowledge of Edifecs business by building positive relationships with the relevant business stakeholders.
- Must be detailed oriented.
- Direct experience with reviewing, negotiating, and drafting commercial contracts, with focus on SaaS agreements and software licensing ensuring they meet the company’s requirements and protect its interests.
- Provide analysis of legal issues with focus on understanding and communicating the business implications to internal stakeholders.
- Identifying the legal risks and proposing mitigation strategies.
- Knowledge of saving contracts in an organized manner.
- Must have knowledge of general computer use, MS Excel, MS Word
- Ability to self-check work and self-motivated.
- Must be able to prioritize workload and ensure that day-to-day work aligns with company and team policies.
