Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Law from a full-time programme and enrolled with the Bar Council of India.
Experience:
- 5-6 years post qualification experience (PQE) in a top-tier Intellectual Property firm. Has to be a hands-on full-time trademark and copyright attorney practicing before the Indian Patent and Trademark Office for the last 5 years.
- Deep understanding of Indian Trademark law and procedure (both prosecution and contentious).
- Strong drafting experience of response to trademark examination reports, oppositions and counterstatements, cancellations and evidence. Experience in copyright and design filings is a plus.
- Portfolio management and Madrid filing experience.
- 3. Excellent writing and speaking skills, strong interpersonal skills.
- Leadership qualities to manage a team.
Responsibilities:
- Providing pre-filing advice, drafting trademark search reports, responses to examination reports, oppositions, cancellations, and legal notices.
- Drafting UDRP and INDRP proceedings.
- Attending hearings before the IP Office.
- Managing a team of associates, attending client meetings and providing and providing practical and commercially savvy advice to clients.
