Role:
Sr. AI & Privacy Associate
Qualification:
- Position is remote with slight preference for candidates located on either the East Coast or in California Bay Area.
- Candidates must have a solid 4-6 years of experience (law school grad years 2019-2021 – we will not be reviewing grad years lower or higher). That experience must be exclusively in U.S. and global AI, privacy, and cybersecurity with a primary emphasis on compliance. A high level of comfort, understanding, and interest in technology is required.
- Candidates must also have in-house experience. Ideal candidates will have a combination of in-house and law firm experience.
Responsibilities:
– Researching, understanding, applying, and counseling clients on Global, State, & Federal AI, privacy, and cybersecurity laws
– Specific experience with advertising, FERPA and children’s privacy laws, including COPPA and age-appropriate design codes is a plus
– Regulatory response, and investigations experience (such as FTC, state regulator, etc.) – CIPA negotiation settlement is also a plus
– Developing and implementing privacy programs
– Conducting AI & data protection impact/risk assessments
– Providing counseling and response to privacy and data security due diligence
– Drafting and negotiating data protection agreements
– Client secondments
You must be a U.S. licensed attorney with a J.D. or LLM. CIPP certification is also preferred.
