About:
Keeping in view the high potential and pollution free nature of the Gems & Jewellery Industry, the Govt. of India decided to allow the manufacture and export of Gem & Jewellery items from SEEPZ during 1987-88, which soon gave a glamorous turn to SEEPZ.
With a view to address the shortcomings experienced due to multiplicity of controls and clearances; absence of world-class infrastructure, and an unstable financial system and to attract large foreign investments into India, the Special Economic Zone (SEZ) policy was announced in April 2000. SEEPZ was one of the three export processing zones converted into Special Economic Zones wef November 1, 2000.
The policy aims to make SEZs engines for economic growth supported by quality infrastructure complemented by an attractive fiscal package at both the Central and State levels with minimum possible regulations. SEZs in India were functioning under the provisions of the Foreign Trade Policy from 1.11.2000 to 09.02.2006 and fiscal incentives were given effect to through the provisions of the relevant laws.

Young Professionals
Qualification:
- LL.B./LL.M. from a recognized University
- Preference will be given to candidates having experience in litigation, legal drafting, or research
- Experience: Minimum 02 years relevant experience in the respective field.
Responsibilities:
- Legal research and drafting support
- Assistance in court matters, preparation of briefs, affidavits and replies
- Monitoring litigation status and coordination with counsels
- Scrutiny of Authority/legal files and references under SEZ Act & Rules
